While out shopping, I spotted a young lady named Ms. Nakita with this fierce hairdo. Her hair is shaved on one side & the back with a zig zag design. While kinky twisted is adorned on the other side. Her hair was so inspiring to me that I had to take pics and post it as my "Inspiration Photo of the Day". Take a look! Hope it inspires you as it has inspired me. Thank you so much Nakita! Stay beautiful, PEACE!

PLAY'N WIT DA SCARF
Hi Ladies & Gents,
Today I'm coming to show you some of the ways I used a simple neck scarf to create several headwraps while bored one day. Wonder if I can ever do it again, lol. It was just a long scarf with fringes on the end. I guess sometimes it is good to be bored huh. These pictures were taken in 2009 when I first joined Facebook. Also, check out the baby locs. My hair was rolled using sponge rollers and teased out with my fingers. Thought I share them with people who have never seen them and well for those who have, hope you liked them. Wishing you PEACE & MUCH LUV!

CUSSING: IS YOUR MOUTH SAVED?
Click on link to hear the audio...
Hi Ladies & Gents,
Today I want to know, Is Your Mouth Saved? I hope this is not taken out of context because much love is put behind it. Today small talk subject is cussing and how (I) see it. So yeah, I entitled it, Cussing, Is Your Mouth Saved? If its one thing that I dislike, it is a woman or women cussing like a sailor. Don't get me wrong, my mouth was not always saved. Now I can say, it's saved, but not delivered. I say this because, it's still a work in progress. Although, my cursing is no way like it use to be, there are times when I still use the words. Most of the time, I have to be absolutely furious. The other times are when, someone is in my presence who constantly do it . Sometimes, it does rub off on you. You know, the good book is true when it says, bad communication corrupt good manners. I did not know the effects of it until I heard myself one day. I was just cussing at my children, they are grown now and happen to just stop and say, " Really, do you hear yourself," smh...I had started going back to church and I had been asking God, what are some of the things I need to change about myself? And low & behold, this was one of them. Don't ask him, if you don't want to know the truth.
I was the type that would cuss if not every word, every other. And although, I want to laugh, I find it no longer funny. I guess that is how much I've grown. My small talk is not to get anyone bent out of shape but just to bring some awareness to it. Maybe this is something you notice about yourself and have been wanting to change. It even bothers me more to hear parents cussing at their children and children cussing around their parents. I know my children, well young adults cuss but they do have enough respect to not do it in front of me. They grew up in that kind of environment, so I knew they would take it up. Also, where I lived, they would have picked it up from the streets.
You know, at first, it might sound cool, you and your homies calling each other B's, saying Motha this and Motha that, F this or that, by now yall get the point. However after awhile, it becomes irritable, to me anyway. Any of yall feel like that? When I hear it, I want to say, do you know how you sound? I don't because, God will reveal it to them just like he revealed it to me. Also, some people get really offended. I know because I use to myself. Also, I knew they was telling me the truth especially when I was all alone by myself. Its something about being alone, it gives you time to reflect. Alot is said when in the presence of friends and family but when there is no one but you, the tables are turned.
To sum it up, although cussing do not have any major effects on you, it sounds ugly. I read once that, someone who cusses all the time have a short or will shorten their vocabulary. I do believe this to be true. Also, keep in mind that you never know who is watching and listening. I got through it by asking God to help me use other words wherein I would cuss. This help me tremendously. I even told my children, if I curse at you, make it known to me, this also helped. They would say quickly, ma you said, you wasn't going to curse at me. Believe me it works but you have to want it for yourself and I did. As I stated above, I'm not delivered, don't know if I will ever be, but it gives me great pleasure to know, I have controll of it. Like Steve Harvey said, God is not through with me yet. God Bless, hope you enjoyed this small talk session and I hope that it has inspired you, to Save Your Mouth, PEACE!

TRIBUTE TO CHUCK BA-A-BY
Hi Ladies and Gents,
I must take time out to give my condolences to Chuck Brown & Family. For those of you who have not heard of him or his music, I have placed his Bio below. He has a website you can visit to know more about him. For all of us who live in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Chuck was the man! If you wanted to get your party on, go to a Chuck Brown concert. They honored him here in DC on May 31, beautiful ceremony. I know he was looking down at us, SMILING! Rest in Peace Chuck! Below I added a clip taken from my YouTube Channel, this is my tribute to him , doing my two step along with my Outfit of the Day. This one is for you Chuck, PEACE!
“The Godfather of Go Go,” Chuck Brown is the undisputed sole founder and creator Go-Go music, a hypnotically danceable genre deeply rooted in funk and soul that he developed in the early 70’s , and the only form of expressive culture to originate in the District of Columbia. Foreshadowing rap and many of the major popular R&B styles of the past three decades, Chuck's signature style earned him a place in American musical royalty. This esteem was maintained by the reputation of his legendary live shows, heavy on audience participation and built around “the beat” to create an unparalleled non-stop party atmosphere.
While searching for a sound to call his own in the 1960s, Chuck was deeply inspired by artists like James Brown. He latched onto the Latin percussion groove from the band he played with at the time, Los Latinos. Combining this with his roots, his love of blues, jazz, gospel, soul, and African rhythms, Chuck began to develop his own unique sound. Starting out playing top forty, Brown would break-it-down between songs with percussion and audience call and response, and keep the music going, and the dance floor packed.
