A VINTAGE LOOK

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am showing you how I styled this pleated circle skirt. I decided to go for the vintage look. I love that look and glad the skirts have come full circle again. I remember seeing women like Lucille Ball, Joan Collins and the like wearing these and always admired it. I was a little girl at the time and although history repeats itself, it took a while before this one came back. Now if I can only learn to sew by fall so I can make me a couple, lol.

The skirts were purchased from Gussini for ten dollars, yall  know I had to scoop them up. It came in Black and Light Blue. What sold me was the pockets. I love me a nice belt and pockets on almost anything I wear, lol. Anywho, I decided to pair it with a yellow linen shirt since the skirt is linen as well. For my accessories, I added a black belt, blk/wht aztec button earrings, gold watch, and a yellow wooden bracelet. On my feet, I am wearing a pair of yellow wedges purchased from Old Navy a couple of years ago but are so comfortable especially while working and having to walk those long hallways, lol.

Well the pics are below, I hope you like them. As always, Thank You so much for your continue love and support. Peace & Many Many Blessings

HAIR OF THE DAY: THE BUSH/AFRO

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I wanted to feature beautiful sistas and brothas sporting Afros. Not sure why I am on this black hair kick, lol. Anyway, here  it goes...I remember the Afros as far back as the 1960's. The 60's was such a wonderful era. Along with many other things, it was a time when we as black people was coming into our own, starting to pursue some of our hopes and dreams. My first attraction to wearing this style came about when I saw the Jackson Five and Silvers sporting them. Everyone remembers the Jackson but do any of you all remember, The Silvers? They were a bunch as fine brothas as well. A couple of their sisters sang with them too. Back then, the Afro was called a "Bush."

Mannn, we would get our Ultra Sheen, our pick and go at it. How many of yall remember that, lol. I would always plait my hair up first, leave it in overnight, take it loose, spray some sheen, pick it out, pat it into shape and I had a serious Bush going on, lol. The Bush could be worn with short or long hair, that was the beauty of it. I wore my first Bush when I was about 10. Although I was still a kid, my memory served me well, lol.

Later, we would use our imagination and styled it all kind of ways. We started by adding parts or making them into bush balls. Afro puffs is what they call them today. The Bush eventually fazed out but some years later returned, only this time, it was called an Afro. In addition, some were cut with precision into what we termed, high top fade.

We as black people were always creative. Other races knew it as well but feared it. You see, they looked at it as a sign of rebellion although later, they would try to wear it. I like to think, we were coming out of our shell and sensing a taste of freedom. Also, making a mark in society sort to speak. However, before this goes into another topic, let me move on and stay focused, lol. Well, the pictures of men and women sporting Bush/Afros are below. They range from singers, actors, rappers, and what I call everyday people. Thank you for your continual love & support. Much Luv, NJOY!

STYLEN A SUSPENDER PENCIL SKIRT

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am showing you how I styled a suspender pencil skirt. The skirt was purchased from Rainbow. It came in two colors, black and white and solid black. I was kinda of reluctant buying this piece because I thought it was going to make me look too young. I have always been a big fan of suspenders even as a young girl. I thought perhaps if I dress it up by putting on heels, a nice top, it would work. Also, I did think about adding a tie, maybe next time.

Lately on Instagam (IG), I have been posting pictures of what I have been wearing to work. On the weekend, I try to post something a little sexy if I find the time. If not, I will post some type of head shot. They seem to like the outfits and I hope you will too as I share some of them. For those of you who follow me on YouTube and do not know that I am on IG. My user name is Locsetc and my page is open. In addition, I follow back so hit me up alright. For those of you who followed me on YT and wanted to know what is going on with me. I just find it easier to post on IG, not much editing required. It also gives me more time to spend with my family which comes first. I still love yall tho.

To complete this look, I added a red/white plaid shirt, a pair heels, silver watch, silver bracelet, and my jelly bag. I promise you all, I have more handbags, lol. You guys always see this that and that is because it has become my favorite summer bag. Plus, I always forget something when I change my bag, lol. I know some of you are like that. Anyway, lol, my locs were styled in petal locs. As always, the pics are below. Hope you like how I styled it. Thanks again for the luv & support. Peace & Many Blessings!

STYLEN A TULLE SKIRT

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am showing you how I styled this Tulle Skirt. I purchased the skirt from Sammydress.  You guys, I was on pins and needles until this skirt arrived. Normally their clothing is cut small, even if you purchase a size large/XL.  However, since the skirt had elastic in the waist, I decided to give it a go and I love it. The fit and length was perfect. I brought it in mint green and cream. In addition, I had been seeing these skirts everywhere on Instagam and wanted one but could not find it. I was searching all my local stores with no luck until one of my YouTube subscribers told me about SammyDress. I has never heard of that store until then, so BabyGirlXTaylor, Thanks Diva! They also have some other beautiful items on their site.

To complete the look, I decided to pair it with an orange and white plaid shirt and cream heels. For accessories, I added a pair of gold/orange earrings, orange wooden bracelet, gold watch, and a cream clutch bag. Hope you guys like how I put it together. Thanks again for your love and support! Peace & Blessings...
