STYLEN A MERMAID SKIRT

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am styling this beautiful mermaid skirt. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it as a part of my wardrobe. The skirt was purchased from Olive Ole. It came in black as well, which they did not have in my size because I definitely would have purchased it. If I can recall, I think I paid around $18 for it. Sorry guys, I am always snatching tags off my clothing when I hang them and by the time I update my blog, forget what I paid for it. I had been looking for a skirt like this. I saw one in a mini and maxi. However, I did not care for the fabric, a little to shiny for me. This one was perfect since it hit me at the knee and although the fabric is a little thick, It feels and look nice.

To complete the look, I added a faux leather/chiffon sleeveless top and a pair of wine "T" strapped heels. I think I got them from Lolashoetique during the summer. My accessories included a pair of gold button earring, gold chrome plated belt, gold watch and a gold/blk leopard print bracelet. As always, the pictures are below. I hope your like them. Thanks for stopping by. Much Luv, Peace!

STYLEN A PAIR OF DISCO PANTS

Hi Ladies & Gents,

I apologize for not updating my post lately. To be honest, I have been feeling a bit lazy when I get home from work, lol. Also, I am practicing my sewing skills using a sewing machine. Seriously, I cannot wait until I have master it. I can sew my butt off by hand but on a sewing machine, its going to take a minute. I am definitely up for the challenge. The thought for this look came about one day while scrolling through IG, I came across several women who are into health and fitness. It made me think back to a time in my life when I used to do the same thing. My husband was always into fitness and would encourage me to do it. The only thing, I was scared because I did not want to look to masculine. Although I was always kind of tom boyish, I enjoy being girly as well.

Anyway, one day I decided to pursue it. The only difference, back then we were not documenting or displaying ourselves on social media. I guess our body just spoke for us, lol. My point is, I wanted to share somewhat how I would have looked. Over the years, I have gain a few pounds but still was able to keep my form.  My arms normally stay kind of tight basically because I am always playing in my locs. As for the lower half, I always had hips, thanks to my mom, lol. Actually, I am fine with my body although, I would like to lose a little belly fat. Just like most women, lol.

Therefore, I decided to roc a pair of disco pants and a crop top. I added a pair of glitter heels to complete the look. One thing about lifting weigh is unless you just let yourself go, you will maintain your form. Be careful because it is just as easy for muscles to turn back into fat. For those of you who do not know, I am 53. I was never one who was afraid of telling my age, just thankful that I am still among the living, lol.

As for my locs, they are pulled back into a ponytail. Some people question, at my age, why I do what I do as far as posting on IG, having a blog, etc. Well truth be told, there are women who do not have the gift of putting outfits together. Also, I try to convey to them a way to wear your clothing in a sexy way without revealing everything. Well I hope you like the pics below. Thank you for your continue support. Peace & Blessing!

MIX MATCHING FABRICS

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am sharing how I played around with different fabrics and patterns. I have seen several women sporting the different ways they mixed fabrics and have been wanting to try it. I am known for either matching or coordinating my clothing.  Back in the day, they mix fabrics all the time, However, I was so young that the clothes were already sold that way so I never got the chance to actually pair pieces together. The pieces I decided to wear are a pair of houndstooth skinny pants and a striped chiffon blouse with pearl buttons across the shoulders. It also has a tie around the neckline that you can tie in a bow or whatever way you prefer and bell sleeves, I like to say, its full of character.

To complete the look, I added a pair of black strappy heels, pearl stud earrings on one side and an pearl ear cuff on the other, a silver watch and my all time favorite jelly bag. You will not be seeing this bag much longer because I like switching up my bags a lot in the Fall. In the summer  not so much, not sure why, lol.  My locs were pulled back into a ponytail. As far as my locs goes, I tend to wear a lot of ponytails in the fall because this allows me to wear a hat if it is cold outdoors, so do not look for too many loc styles.. With that said, the pictures are below. I hope you all like how I styled it. Peace & Many Blessing!

STYLEN A ONE PIECE JEAN JUMPER

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am showing you how I styled this one piece jumper. There is not much going on with this piece other than it made of jean material, buttons in the front and has a elastic waist and two pockets. There is also elastic around the ankle. For some reason when I wear pants cut like these, I like to roll them up near the knee. The pants were purchased from Rainbow. Its funny because when I went to one of the higher end stores to buy one, the cut was not right for my body which is usually the case for a lower end store. However, the lower end store worked. I am always looking for bargains. The catch is when you wear it, make it look like you paid more for it.

Lately, I have been finding a lot of cute pieces made from jean materials, mainly dresses and skirts. They make great transitional pieces going into the Fall. To complete the look, I added a pair of gold hoop earring, a pair of gold wedge sneakers/tennis shoes, and a blue jelly bag,  As far as my locs, I am sporting a loc bun. As you know, the pictures are below, hope you like them. Thanks for the luv and support. Peace & Blessings!

STRIPES ON STRIPES

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am trying my hand at mixing stripes with stripes. Both pieces came as a suit so I decided to switch it up a little. Its funny because for some reason, I did not think it was going to look right but after taking a view it the mirror, I was like yeah, that's wussup, lol. With this look, I did not have to do much because of the stripes therefore, I only added a pair of button earrings, silver watch, and strapped ankle heels. My locs are pulled back into a ponytail. Well, I do not have a lot to say about this look other than I hope you like it. As you all know, the pictures are below. Thanks for your luv & support. Peace & Blessings!

TRYING A HIJAB FASHION LOOK

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am trying to see if I look nice wearing my version of a Hijab . What I mean by this is, taking my everyday fashion sense and wearing two scarfs tied like a Hijab. With this look I can always keep my locs pulled back into a small bun. I thought this would be something different for me especially since I like wearing protective styles in the fall. Also, this is the time when I wear layers of clothing, so I think I can pull it off. I was inspired by this beautiful woman name Dalal AlDoub. I found her on Instagam and later found out that she has a YouTube channel called Dalalid, her website is Dalalidtrendz.com. I know, I'm late huh, lol. Her fashion sense is FIERCE. She looks so elegant in her clothing to be covered from head to toe. I am definitely going to be taking some pages out of her notebook.

At first, I was not sure if I wanted to create the look because I did not want to offend the Muslim Nation. I was not sure if the dress was part of their religion or not. However, from what I gather from her pics, she displays it in a fashion sense on IG and YT. I only hope that the Muslim Nation and Dalal will find it to be in good taste. The next time I would have more clothing on as well. As I stated, this was only a test run. Those of you who follow me knows I wear my clothing in a sexy but classy kind of way.

Below are some pictures, I just pulled something out of the closet to create a look. Again, this was only to see how I would look. The next time I create this look, I am going to come correct, trust and believe, lol. I have included a picture of her so you all can get a feel for what I am talking about. This is my make shift look so bare with me okay. I promise you the next time I post, it is going to be Fierce like hers.

With the said, I came up with two looks, one sexy and one sporty. The only difference is I change the purse, and shoes. The dress is a hoodie dress. First I placed my scarf over my head, then pulled the hood over it. I hope you all like it. Well thanks for stopping through and I hope I have not offended anyone as this in not my intent. Peace & Blessing, Much Luv!

STYLEN ANOTHER JEAN DRESS

Hi Ladies & Gents,

I told you all that I was going to share the other jean dresses I purchased from my local thrift store, so here it is. This one is a midi dress with a lot of character as well. It has one pocket on the top left and instead of two pockets on the bottom half, there is just one. In addition, it has small buttons from the top to the bottom and flares out a little. I just love it.

To complete the look, I decided to go for a vintage look by adding a cute bow belt that was thrifted as well and a pair of shoe booties. For my accessories, I added a pair of beaded earring and a set of bracelets in gold, brown and blue, just to break up the look a little, a gold watch and a two-toned handbag. My locs were styled in the Janelle Monae look, which is one of my favorite looks to sport. Well, the pictures are below. I hope you like how I styled it. Thanks again for checking a sista out. Much Luv, Peace & Blessings!
