PROJECT RUNWAY INSPIRED OUTFIT

Hi Ladies & Gents,

Today I am excited because I was able to create another look after watching Project Runway. Now, I will not go as far as to say I created this look because there are so many incredible fashion designers out there, I know someone has done it. However, the fact that the thought came to my mind was enough to get me inspired and wanting to learn how to use a sewing machine. Its funny, I never consider sewing before but I do know how to sew by hand. After watching three seasons of Project Runway, ideas started racing in my mind. I even sketched an item I saw on there. For this to be my first time with sketching, I did well for a person that do not know how to draw.  Not sure why I never pursued a career in fashion design in my early years. Then again, I do. Life was really a struggle for me, especially after losing my parents at an early age. Nowadays, they have so many programs to assist young people who lost one or both parents, back then, they did not.

In addition to that, DIYmeesha & MiMi G, two young ladies I subscribe to on Youtube has also been a great inspiration to me. They both show how to get things done when it comes to sewing. They have different techniques to sewing but are awesome in their craft. For anyone wanting to learn to sew, I highly recommend them. Now to the outfit, for this look, I use a white blouse and a faux leather vest. I was going for that half vest half blouse with a top covering over it, such as a blazer or sweater. In this case, I used a v-neck faux leather top. I really like how I was able to play it off without cutting my blouse. Although, if I had a sewing machine, I would have. To accomplish the look, I wrapped half of the blouse around me, and tried to tuck it as much as possible, then put a v-neck vest over it to give me the look I was going for. I really like how it turned out. Also, I have something else in mind I want to try that I saw on the program. This one is going to require a sewing machine. I think I can do it without one but it would take too long to sew by hand. To seal my look, I paired it with a pair of jeans that has black faux leather on the side of each leg. Because I like showing you a couple of ways to wear an outfit, I also paired it with an Aztec skirt. For my accessories, I kept them to a minimum. I wore only earrings and a set of bracelet. My shoes consist of some chunky booties for the jeans and strappy heels for the skirt, that completed my look. As always, the pictures are below. I hope this has inspired you as much as it has me. Much Luv & Thanks For Your Support.
